Mother & Baby Yoga

Tuesday and Friday 11.15am-12.15pm

It can be difficult to find the time to exercise once children come along.  This class allows the new mother to ease herself gently back into her yoga practice with her baby.  There's a focus on toning the pelvic floor and abdomen and easing the back and shoulders. A typical class will include yoga poses and sequences, breathing practices and a welcomed chance to relax at the end. Women find that practicing yoga together with their baby helps to strengthen their bond and gently allows her body to recover from pregnancy and labour.  Amy is very experienced at working with women in the postnatal period.  She understands the impact of pregnancy, labour and the postnatal period on a woman's body, having had two children of her own.  Amy is used to working with women coping with common postnatal conditions such wrist pain, back pain, pelvic floor issues and abdominal separation.


All the classes are very informal, and mothers are welcome to feed or change or attend to their babies whenever necessary.  Classes are suitable for babies from 6 weeks old or 8 weeks post c-section, up until babies become fast crawlers, (then it's off to Toddler Yoga).  After class there is time for cake and a natter, a very important aspect of the class!
